Registered owners of PC Tools Deluxe version 6.0 can upgrade to the
latest versions of our files by downloading files from this library.
These files have been encrypted with PC Secure and must be decrypted
with PC Secure Version 5 (or later) before they can be used. You must
have PCSecure in your DOS PATH statement and have entered a "Master Key"
before the automatic decryption can occur. If you are unsure what the
"Master Key" is, please consult your documentation.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the files into a new subdirectory using the names listed.
2. Once offline, change to the new subdirectory and run the first file.
This will unarchive the file and generate a RUNME.BAT.
3. Run "RUNME" to decrypt the file.
4. The RUNME.BAT file will ask whether or not you want to overwrite the
file. Answer "Y" for yes.
5. Repeat steps 2, 3, & 4 above for each file.

COMMENTS ABOUT THE LATEST VERSION OF MIRROR.COM:
The version of MIRROR.COM that accompanies this text file can now be
loaded high with either QEMM, 386MAX, and most other Loadhi utilities.
As you know, there are two parts to Mirror:
o Mirror itself, that protects your hard drive from damage by
saving a reserve copy of your File Allocation Table and Root
Directory. Processing the File Allocation Table and Root Directory
requires a significant amount of memory (the larger the drive - the
more memory is needed). This part of Mirror only needs memory when
it is active. It releases all memory when done.
o The Delete Tracker protects you by making a note of information
about each file that is deleted on your drive. It records the file
name as well as a list of sectors that the file occupied. This
information is invaluable when trying to recover inadvertantly
deleted information. This portion of Mirror is memory resident,
but needs just a small block of memory (approximately 7Kb).
Older versions of Mirror tried to process the system areas of the hard
drive each time they were run. For this reason they weren't able to be
loaded high in most cases. There just wasn't enough contiguous high
memory available. The new version of Mirror solves this problem, but
it requires you to load Mirror in a slightly different way. If you
load Mirror like this now:
MIRROR C: /TC
and wish to load it high with QEMM you will need to change it to:
MIRROR C:
C:\QEMM\LOADHI C:\PCTOOLS\MIRROR /TC
If you load Mirror as:
MIRROR C: D: /TC /TC
you will change it to:
MIRROR C: D:
C:\QEMM\LOADHI C:\PCTOOLS\MIRROR /TC /TD
